Our Warly main, @himochiart​, is Welsh, and as soon as we got this line he started yelling and had to immediately tell us all about the reputation of Liverpool back in the day as a poor working-class area and also about the sCOUSE ACCENT, WHICH IS REALLY NOT THE ACCENT YOU WOULD EXPECT MAXWELL TO HAVE, AT ALL

And then we all realised…… has, has maxwell been putting on a more Posh British Accent…. to seem like he has a fancier background….is he covering up a scouse accent……. this feels in-character… we started excitedly googling and apparently yEAH THE “DISTINCTIVE LIVERPOOL ACCENT” WAS A THING BACK IN 1900, THIS COULD ABSOLUTELY BE TRUE

Anyway then I remembered Wickerbottom uses “biscuits” in the UK way and is probably also British and would DEFINITELY NOTICE THE ACCENT DOESN’T MATCH, y’all I can’t stop thinking about this

If you want to get SUPER TECHNICAL, Liverpool is where his ship left from, when he immigrated to America. On his Inspection card, it stated that his last residence was London

But I also REALLY want him to be from Liverpool, since he possibly was living in London to try and get his stage act up and running, before deciding America, the ‘Land of Opportunity’ was the more hopeful option.
